Goals &

  • Enhance and update students' knowledge in Biochemistry and Biomedical Science

  • Give students a comprehensive training in the state-of-the-art techniques and methodologies used in Biochemistry and Biomedical Technology.

  • Provide students the skills on research, analytical and innovative thinking, in addition to the integration of theory and application.

  • Cultivate the ability of critical thinking, a proactive and responsible attitude and efficient communication skills for high competitiveness in further study and career development.

After completing the MSc programme I pursued a PhD in Biochemistry and am now a Research Associate in the School of Life Sciences, with particular research interest in the molecular and structural virology of the influenza virus. Looking back, the MSc programme has indeed laid a solid foundation for my PhD study and also my current research work. The programme equipped me with advanced knowledge in the broad discipline of biochemical and biomedical sciences. Lecturers were experts in their respective research areas and provided tremendous support. Students were from various professional backgrounds such as education, medical laboratory, food laboratory, public health administration, Chinese Medicine, etc. and we still maintain close connections after graduation. I would surely recommend the programme to those who aspire to scholarly advances in this field.
